Berlin - my holiday starts
The summer sets in and leaves in intervals of 30 minutes. So does the rain and the wind. I decide to start my blog. I am faster than Pablo (who gave me this idea). But that was not the purpose.
Les Beaux Gosses de Berlin
You always wanted to know who is the The King Of The New Electric Hi-Life and who are the cutest boys in town. All this was revealed to me last night at Bang Bang Club (www.bangbang-club.de) at Hackescher Markt. At A.J. Holmes "Record Release Party" he presented his electric hilife which is a kind of re-tuned version of the High Life of the 1960s. Nice to listen at home: www.myspace.com/ajholmesthekingofthenewelectrichilife
He is also part of the "Beaux Gosses de Berlin" which he announced as the best band in Germany. It was certainly a wonderful night of Bongolo and Kwassa Kwassa. Don't miss it if they come your way:

Zero Degrees:
East meets West meets South
Another night - another show. Tonight I went to a dance show of two men which is physically complementary and full of intimacy. It is a show which for me is simply "fusion": two men of different ethnic backgrounds dance and perform in "total sync". It is a story about a journey from Bangladesh to Calcutta with live musicians at the back of the stage who are occasionally lit through the backdrop and who perform music from the region. You don't need to be a lover of modern dance (or worse: ethnic stuff) to like it.
